Travel on public transport is exempt from restrictions on gatherings, so there can be more than 10 people using a form of public transport. Passengers are encouraged to keep physically distancing in mind and choose a seat away from others where possible.

Tasmanian bus drivers are at the ready to help you reach essential services.

You have a responsibility to keep yourself, your bus driver and other passengers safe. 

Using Buses
Anyone feeling unwell should avoid using public transport.
Travel outside peak periods where possible.
While waiting at bus stops, practice social distancing .
Adults seeking to board a bus which has a high number of passengers are asked to consider waiting for the next service where available. This request does not apply to children.
Practice good hand hygiene.
If possible use hand sanitiser before and after catching the bus.
Spread out on board as much as you can.
Members of the same household and family groups can sit together.
Avoid touching surfaces inside the bus whenever you can.Please comply with any requests from your bus driver.

The number of students using school buses will increase from 25 May as primary school and colleges resume on site learning. The Department of State Growth will monitor school bus demand and consider whether any changes to bus services are needed.

Important Update - Additional Service to Hobart College from Huonville As from May 27th 2020 there will be an additional service Departing Huonville at 7.30am Skinners Lane direct to Hobart College. This service DOES NOT travel via Kingston Departing Hobart College at 3.20PM Hobart College direct to Huonville. This service DOES NOT travel via Kingston. This service will be closely monitored . School bus arrangements for Term 2 School bus services to Government, Catholic and Independent schools are operating where the school is open to students. The continued operation of school bus services is being regularly reviewed based on Public Health advice and updates. Please be advised that due to the current weather and road conditions, Route 748 Queenstown - Strahan and Route 747 Strahan - Queenstown was unable to be serviced, However the remaining part of Route 747 Queenstown-Burnie will be operating as per Timetable. Bus stop changes West Coast to Burnie From 19 April 2020, West Coast to Burnie service will no longer stop at Cattley St. Tassielink will no longer stop at Cattley Street from 19 April 2020. The bus will now only pick up and drop off passengers at Mount Street, outside the old Advocate building. For more information on timetables and bus routes, please visit www.transport.tas.gov.au

Tassielink wishes to advise that full timetables are running as normal until April 9th. From April 10 the school holiday timetable will come into effect except of Public Holidays. Normal timetables will resume on 27th April 2020. Please see timetables for details. Tassielink would like to advise that due to unforeseen circumstances , Route 794 due to depart Launceston at 11.05am has experienced a significant delay . We apologise for the inconvenience .
ROUTE CHANGES TO BUS TRAVEL AT DRUMMOND CRESCENT PERTH Due to road changes, all Tassielink services will not be able to stop at Drummond Crescent. This may affect your current travel arrangements. As part of the Perth Links Road project, all traffic to and from Perth will need to travel along the new highway which links the Southern roundabout with Illawara Rd. The Perth end of Illawarra Rd will be developed into a cul-de-sac. Currently Westbound Tassielink services to Cressy/Longford are not stopping on Drummond Crescent. From 31 March 2020 all Eastbound Tassielink services will no longer be stopping on Drummond Crescent. Drummond Crescent passengers will need to use the bus stops at: • Perth central, Main Rd (near the Fire Station). • Scone St (opposite Perth Memorial Reserve). As a part of the Greencard network TassieLink Transit will have a fare amnesty until 10th April 2020. This will enable customers to source a Greencard for safer contactless payment. Route 794 08:35 Launceston - Longford and Return to 09:18 Launceston is experiencing 15-20min delays. Please remain at all stops and we will be with you as soon as possible We wish to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

A very sad day as our last Main Road service is about to leave Hobart. We thank everyone for your support over the past 18 years, especially our 3 great drivers.
CRESSY , LONGFORD, PERTH to LAUNCESTON UPDATE Due to route 795 departing Cressy at 7:20am experiencing delays within the Launceston CBD, we are trialing a new route which travels directly to Launceston College and then stops further along at Brisbane St (stop D2). This service will not be able to stop on York St (stop C1), but passengers wanting to travel to the CBD can get off the bus at stop D2 which is a short walk to the Mall and to St John St. There are also other school buses departing Launceston College that students can catch. Alternatively passengers can catch Route 796 departing Cressy at 7:33am which will stop at York St (C1). We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
