  • A route change in Richmond, with services to travel via St Johns Circuit, this avoids the bus reversing in local streets which is unsafe
  • Colebrook is proposed to be serviced by an Area Connect service (in place of bus services) which will better suit the needs of the community
  • Slight reduction in weekday services to enable provision of more Saturday services and new Sunday services
  • Campania will have 10 services on school days
  • Richmond will have 12 services on school days
  • Both Richmond and Campania will have six services on Saturday and Sunday
  • Hobart CBD stop changes, Campania and Richmond services will drop off and pick up passengers at Elizabeth Street (town hall). Services will no longer pick up and drop off at Brisbane Street or drop off at Franklin Square
  • All services will start and finish at Elizabeth Street (town hall), students will need to transfer onto other services to travel to Hobart based schools.
  • Route numbers will change for both Campania and Richmond services:
  • Campania to Hobart: 726
  • Richmond to Hobart: 725

*a service is a one way trip, so 10 services usually means five return trips

Latest Network updates

Greater Hobart Bus Network Review The Department of State Growth is reviewing the current Greater Hobart bus network, including urban Hobart, and outlying areas such as New Norfolk, Sorell and Southern Beaches, Richmond, Campania, and the Huon Valley. This review includes the public bus network currently operated by Tassielink, Metro and Kinetic and the Metro school bus network. No other school bus services are included. Changes coming on 3 May 2026 As the first step of the review, bus timetables in Greater Hobart will change on 3 May 2026 to better reflect actual travel conditions, and new Sunday services to and from Brighton will commence. The current Greater Hobart bus network is based on 2015 travel conditions. Timetables have not kept pace with changes in road network conditions, travel patterns, journey times, and traffic, contributing to ongoing late running. From 3 May 2026, timetables will more closely align with actual bus movements. Most public services will be adjusted by just a few minutes but have added extra to some Metro school services so students can get to school on time. You can plan future journeys using journey planning apps from 1 April 2026. Timetables will be available to preview online from 17 April 2025 at transport.tas.gov.au/bus-network review. • Please check times on the new timetables https://www.transport.tas.gov.au/public_transport/bus_timetables/hobart-timetables • Arrive at your bus stop at least 5 minutes early • Public transport is free until Tuesday 30 June 2026, so it’s a great opportunity to give it a try if you’re not a regular user. Questions and feedback • To view Frequently Asked Questions, visit the Transport website. • To provide feedback about the new timetables, or public transport generally, contact State Growth using their online form, by email at ptfeedback@stategrowth.tas.gov.au or call (03) 6166 3343 (M – F, 9am – 5pm).
