Route Information

The timetable for this route is now managed through Transport Tasmania.

Service changes from Sunday 20th January 2019

  • Improved connectivity with all Swansea and Bicheno services travelling via Sorell which is the closest regional centre to the East Coast. Swansea services will no longer divert via Richmond
  • An increase in services for both Bicheno and Swansea
  • Bicheno will have a daily return service, including weekends
  • Swansea will have two daily return services on school days and a daily return on weekends
  • Interim connections to Coles Bay will be provided between Bicheno and Coles Bay services. These linkages as will be improved in mid-2019 when St Helens and Coles Bay services are implemented
Hobart CBD Stop Changes
  • Bicheno and Swansea services will drop off and pick up passengers closer to the Hobart CBD, with a central stop at Elizabeth Street (town hall). Services will no longer pick up and drop off at Brisbane Street or Elizabeth Street (Hydro Tasmania building)
Route Number Changes
  • Route numbers will change for both Bicheno and Swansea services:
  • Bicheno to Hobart: 737
  • Swansea to Hobart: 736

Tassielink would like to advise passengers travelling on our services through Perth, We are currently unable to service our bus stops in Scone Street due to road works being carried out today. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
How to catch a bus. 1. Get to the bus stop a few minutes before your scheduled departure time, if possible 5 minutes before departure time. 2. At the bus stop, stand in a visible spot so the driver can see you in time to pull into the stop. 3. As the bus approaches, raise your hand to signal the driver that you want the bus to stop. Keep your hand raised until you see the bus indicate to pull into the stop. If travelling at night use your phone light to signal driver, keep phone light up until you see the bus indicate to pull into the stop 4. Have your Greencard or cash (as close to the correct amount as possible) ready before boarding. 5. Let the driver know your destination and pay your fare How to disembark a bus. 1. Press the stop button near your seat when approaching your desired bus stop. 2. Ensure you have all your belongings with you before exiting the bus. 3. Wait until the bus has come to a complete stop before leaving your seat to exit the bus or hang on to the rails to ensure your safety.
